Role: Social Circus Program Manager.

Location: Footscray, Melbourne. 

Hours: Part-time (0.8 EFT), can be spread across 5 days a week (Mon – Sat). 

Salary: $67,184 pro-rata + superannuation and entitlements. 

Term: Fixed term (2 years) with potential to become ongoing.  

Preferred start: February/March 2025.

About the Role: 

The Social Circus Program Manager oversees Women’s Circus programs, including Community Social Circus Classes, Partnership Programs, and Sector Development Initiatives. This role involves managing program operations, casual staff, and participant engagement, ensuring programs are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with our values. 

This role is ideally suited to a circus performer, trainer/coach, or someone with strong connections to circus organisations. It offers unique opportunities for professional and personal growth, including access to training and rehearsal space, participation in circus classes and workshops, collaboration with other circus artists, and involvement in creative projects and performances (if desired). 

Women’s Circus is a family-friendly organisation, providing a supportive environment for people with children or other personal commitments. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate program operations, including class enrolments (MindBody), workshops, and venue bookings. 
  • Manage and support casual staff (trainers), including rostering, professional development, and recruitment. 
  • Engage with participants, community members, and partners to foster collaboration and inclusivity. 
  • Maintain data and systems for program delivery and contribute to organisational growth. 

Selection Criteria: 

Essential: 

  • Experience in circus skills/artform and familiarity with the Australian circus community. 
  • Strong administrative skills, including CRM/database management (e.g. MindBody). 
  • Proven ability to engage diverse communities and manage staff effectively. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook). 

Desirable: 

  • Adaptive mindset and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Experience with community engagement and cultural equity frameworks.
