Welcome to the 2025 Women’s Circus Open Day!

Drop in and give circus a try at your local Women’s Circus! Bring the whole family, connect with your community and see what makes social circus so special– and it’s completely FREE.

Where: Women’s Circus, 395 Barkly St Footscray
When: Saturday 11 January 2025, 9am-1pm
Cost: FREE!

This community event invites you to come inside the iconic Footscray Drill Hall and check out Women’s Circus, a social circus and not for profit arts organisation founded in Footscray in 1991. Women’s Circus runs year round social circus term classes for ages 2-75+, along with a range of creative programs including shows and developments. We seek to empower people of a marginalised gender to shape community and culture through circus.

At our Open Day we will have non-stop drop in circus workshops for all ages, so you and your family can try your hand at a whole range of circus skills including aerials, juggling, acrobalance and more. We will have Auslan interpreters on site all day for social interpreting and to interpret any circus instructions for d/Deaf community members who would like to come and try. All ages and all genders are welcome, and of course there will be a coffee cart on site serving free coffee and a bake sale!

You can pre register for free here, or sign up on the day. We can’t wait to meet you all and welcome you into your local circus!
