We are on the look for a new secretary to be part of our dynamic board.
Are you looking to build arts administration skills? Want first hand experience of how boards work? Love what Women’s Circus does and want to support our circus community? If you’re one, some, or all of the above we’d love to hear from you!
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in building experience and understanding of boards and is looking to gain arts and NFP governance experience.
All you need is your own laptop and a decent internet connection!
- Board Meetings are every second month on a Monday and mostly online from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. The first being Monday 19th of August.
- Total average bi monthly commitment 4 hours (2 hours meeting + approximately 2 hours tidying and finalising minutes).
- The board secretary is highly encouraged to attended skill & knowledge training opportunities and strategy days.
- You will also be invited to join us at all performances and community events, involving you in the community!
You never know were this role might take you – our current Acting Chair El Boydell began her journey on the board as secretary, and our Executive Director, Steph, first connected with Women’s Circus as board secretary.
“Being the Board Secretary at Women’s Circus strengthened my understanding of governance, financial documents interpretation and organisational policies. It connected me to a group of people all committed to inter-sectional feminism from a wide variety of industries and job roles, people I would not of been connected with otherwise. It was very rewarding” – Past Board Secretary
