HerStory (2009)

The Women’s Circus is proud to present HERSTORY our major production for 2009 at the Living Museum of the West, Pipemakers Park on the Maribyrnong River from Thursday 19 November to Sunday 6 December.

HERSTORY takes the audience on an exhilarating journey through the history of Women’s Circus by weaving together and reinterpreting key moments from 18 years of performances. Accompanied by narration from past and present Women’s Circus members, an uplifting and inspiring picture will emerge of the moments that have changed and defined them, the Circus and those around them.

Come early and wander around the park and enjoy 1 hour of roving circus entertainment prior to the show. During interval be dazzled by a spectacular fire act in the park.

In conjunction with the show is a free exhibition celebrating 18 years of the Women’s Circus its history and its significant influence on the development of contemporary social and physical circus in Australia. The exhibition includes show posters, behind the scenes photographs, circus diaries and costumes as well as footage from past performances.
