Our Community

Members of Women's Circus community share a meal

Women’s Circus is a large, diverse community that relies on its staff and members each fulfilling their roles and responsibilities to keep it the vibrant and exciting company it is.

Over the past sixteen years, over a thousand women have trained, performed, done technical production and volunteered in other ways at Women’s Circus. Some of these women are still active members of our community, while others do front of house each year or are loyal audience members at our annual shows.

The Circus has developed and evolved to the extent it has because of the dedication and commitment of its community. In the past, Community members were encouraged to take part in many areas of the running of the Circus. In recent years Women’s Circus has grown and employed more staff, and been able to take over some of these roles that community members did in earlier years.

Currently, there are regular Community meetings, Community Directors on Women’s Circus Board, committees and other ways that Community members participate in the day-to-day and longer term running of Women’s Circus.
